Our Clinical Philosophy
Great treatment shouldn’t rely on guesswork.
Every appointment begins with understanding what your body is doing before treatment starts. We assess movement, identify the cause, treat with purpose and reassess before you leave, so you can feel the difference, not simply hope for it.
It’s the philosophy that has guided No More Knots since 1998, and it’s still how we practise today.

No More Knots Is Founded
Kelly Townsend founds No More Knots with a vision to provide high-quality remedial massage that genuinely improved people’s lives, starting from four small rooms.

Taringa Opens
A second clinic opens in Taringa to meet growing demand across Brisbane’s western suburbs.

Newmarket Opens
Our third clinic opens in Newmarket, answering years of requests from northside clients.

No More Knots enters an exciting new chapter under the ownership of Brisbane local Elisha McDonald.

The Next Chapter
A full rebrand, a new website built and owned by us, the NMK Academy training the next generation of therapists, and the NMK Support Program looking after our own. We are not simply marking twenty-eight years, we are building what comes next.
Building On Strong Foundations
Today, No More Knots is led by Brisbane local Elisha McDonald, a remedial therapist, former athlete and business owner with more than 25 years’ experience in the health industry.
Alongside the clinics, Elisha has built Australian businesses across allied health, supplement manufacturing and wellness, bringing together clinical practice, product development and education. That experience now supports No More Knots’ continued focus on evidence-based treatment, clinical excellence and long-term recovery.
She is supported by General Manager Kristy Donoghue, whose long history with the business has helped shape its culture, clinical standards and commitment to exceptional client care.
Together with our clinic managers and leadership team, they continue to build on the strong foundations established in 1998 while preparing No More Knots for its next chapter of growth.

Each clinic is purpose-designed for remedial massage and myotherapy, fitted with premium Athlegen and Ausmedic electric treatment tables and the space to care for up to 35 clients at a time across our three locations. Our hand wash and sanitiser come from Thank You, who fund clean water projects in developing nations. They smell phenomenal, try them in clinic.
Our toilet paper is made from environmentally friendly materials, and 50% of their profits build toilets and improve sanitation in the developing world.
Every NMK team member receives a Better Half gratitude journal. We chose Better Half for their Buy One, Give One philosophy: for every journal bought for our team, another is donated to support someone experiencing domestic violence. Our investment in our own people creates an impact well beyond our clinics.
What We Changed
In 2012 we took part in community green initiatives through Climate Smart and sought advice from green experts on reducing our carbon footprint. Much of it is still how we run today.
Energy-efficient bulbs throughout, and Dyson Airblade dryers instead of paper towel in our bathrooms.
Drought-resistant gardens, water-dispersible massage oils, towels chosen to cut washing loads, client files kept securely in the cloud instead of on paper, and natural cleaners such as bicarb and vinegar.
Recycling is not a standard council service for Brisbane businesses, so we pay for our own. We also recycle ink cartridges, use recyclable cups for filtered water, and use recycled paper wherever we can.
