Lymphatic Drainage
A gentle, rhythmic treatment to reduce swelling and support your body's natural recovery.
Lymphatic drainage is provided within a remedial or myotherapy appointment, by therapists trained in it. It is not a separate booking. When booking, choose a remedial massage or myotherapy appointment and let us know you would like lymphatic drainage, so we can match you with the right therapist.
What Is Lymphatic Drainage?
Lymphatic drainage is a gentle, rhythmic technique that supports your lymphatic system, the network that clears fluid, waste and toxins from your tissues and helps your immune system do its job. Unlike firm remedial work, it uses light, slow, repetitive strokes that follow the direction of your lymphatic flow. The pressure is deliberately soft. It is the rhythm and the direction that do the work, encouraging trapped fluid to move and drain the way it is meant to.
Who It Helps
Lymphatic drainage can help with swelling and fluid retention, heavy or aching limbs, recovery after surgery or injury, and that sluggish, run-down feeling. It can also support general wellbeing and healthy immune function. If you are recovering from surgery, or you have a diagnosed medical condition, your therapist will talk it through with you first and, where needed, work in with your medical team.
What To Expect
Your therapist assesses you first, then works with light, rhythmic strokes along your lymphatic pathways. The treatment is calming and the pressure stays gentle throughout. Please tell your therapist if anything feels uncomfortable. Many clients notice lighter, more comfortable limbs, reduced swelling and better sleep, with results building over a course of treatments.
Booking Lymphatic Drainage
Because only some of our therapists are trained in lymphatic drainage, please book a remedial massage or myotherapy appointment and let reception know you would like lymphatic drainage, so we can match you with a suitable therapist. For pricing, see our pricing page.
