Remedial Massage Brisbane: A Complete Guide
If you have searched for remedial massage in Brisbane, you have probably found dozens of clinics all promising the same thing. Here is what actually matters when you are choosing where to go, and what makes remedial massage different from a relaxation massage.
What Is Remedial Massage?
Remedial massage is a scientific, results-focused form of manual soft-tissue therapy. Rather than simply helping you relax, it works to reduce pain and restore function to your muscles, nerves, fascia and connective tissue, so you move and feel better long after you leave the table.
Remedial Massage vs Relaxation Massage
A relaxation massage feels lovely, and it has its place. But if you have a specific problem, a stiff neck from desk work, a sporting injury, chronic lower back pain, you need treatment that targets the cause, not just the symptom. That is remedial massage: every session starts with an assessment, not a script.
What To Expect At Your First Appointment
At No More Knots, your first remedial massage appointment is one hour and includes a brief assessment, hands-on treatment, and self-treatment techniques you can use at home. Most clients find the best results come from 60 minutes or longer of focused remedial work.
Remedial Massage Across Brisbane
No More Knots has three clinics across Brisbane, in Greenslopes, Taringa and Newmarket, home to a team of experienced, tertiary-qualified remedial massage therapists and myotherapists. We have been helping Brisbane move and feel better since 1998.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Remedial Massage and a relaxation massage?
Relaxation massage is about comfort and winding down. Remedial Massage starts with an assessment of how you are moving and where the restriction actually sits, then treats the cause rather than only the sore spot. You should expect questions, some testing, and a reassessment before you leave.
Do I need a referral to book?
No. You can book directly with any of our clinics without a referral. If you are claiming through a scheme that requires a referral or a care plan, your GP will tell you what they need.
Can I claim on private health insurance?
Yes. All three clinics have HICAPS terminals, so you can claim your rebate at reception and pay only the gap. Your rebate depends on your fund, your level of cover, the treatment and your therapist, so it is worth checking your eligibility with your insurer before you come in.
Where are your clinics?
We have three Brisbane clinics: Greenslopes, Taringa and Newmarket. All three offer Remedial Massage and Myotherapy, and you can book at whichever is most convenient.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing you can move in. For an assessment we may ask you to do some simple movements. You will be appropriately draped with towels throughout the treatment, and only the area being worked on is uncovered.
How long is an appointment?
Appointment lengths vary depending on what you need. A first appointment includes an assessment, so allow a little extra time. Current session lengths and pricing are listed on our pricing page.
