WHAT IS Pilates?
Pilates as a method of physical exercise started over 80 years ago with Joseph Pilates. He created a program that focused on the core postural muscles that help keep the body balanced and aligned with the intention of spinal health and posture awareness originally.
The Pilates method of exercise works to develop muscle tone and improve alignment throughout the body enabling better global and fine movement, stability, balance, control, mobility all with the intention of more efficient function.
Pilates is accessible to basically anyone and everyone who keen and willing to enhance the way their body moves and feels! There are endless benefits to the inclusion of Pilates, including:
WHAT TO WEAR?
We advise you wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to move freely. Pilates emphasises correct form and alignment and therefore it is ideal for your clothing to be fitted enough to allow your instructor to better observe your form during the movements. For both hygiene and ease of movement, we also recommend that you wear socks! You may also want to bring you own towel and a water bottle
