Angela graduated completing her Diploma in Remedial Massage in February 2020 from AIF Brisbane. She is originally from Fiji and migrated to Australia in 2003. Angela is a former assistant nurse and worked in aged care for more than nine years before she finally decided to change career and pursue her interest in massage as an approach to facilitate recovery and healing. She is a third-generation massage therapist - the paternal and maternal sides of her family have deep connections to traditional Fijian and Polynesian massage therapy and healing - and she is a huge believer in mind-and-body connections. She also has high regard for the body’s ability to heal itself over time. Angela prefers to include that approach of holistic health in all her treatments and, when required, refers her clients to suitable professionals or, as she likes to characterise them, her umbrella of specialists.
She likes to work with all sorts of clients who present with chronic pains and her interests are in myofascial release and trigger point therapy.
Her goal is to progress into sports massage and work with athletes, particularly in contact sports because she herself has a background of playing grassroots rugby for the GPS Rugby Club in Ashgrove. Angela maintains a connection with the club through the work she does with the women’s team.
